Sleepover

Last night was Ethan's first sleepover. Patrick, his friend from across the street and Ethan have been wanting to have a sleep over for awhile but there just hasn't been the right time. Finally I gave in and called Patrick's Mom and we planned a time for the big event. Well last night it came.

We dragged both Holly and Ethan's mattresses into our playroom where they all hunkering in for the night. We popped pop corn, made some chocolate milk and put on Shrek the Third. This lasted until 11:30 pm and then I had to put on a video to help get them to sleep. The Baby Einsteins Video's are great for this, even better is the "Lullaby Time" Baby Einsteins Video. It put Patrick right to sleep, Ethan followed the second time through but Holly, well she didn't fall asleep until around 1 am and would not go to sleep without the video on. I finally got to turn it off at 4 am without her waking up.

So I figured that they would all sleep in a little bit, at least until 9:30 am or so but NO! All three where up at 7:45 am. So I got up and I made waffles and sausages for breakfast and we made Root beer floats around 10:30 am and now we are getting ready for Lunch.

Patrick's Mom works so I told her we would keep him today so he could play and so he wouldn't have to go to his sitters early. We have him all day until around 5:30 - 6 pm.

Ethan has had such a great time. I am so happy that his first sleep over has gone so well for him.

WOW - I'm so tired, I hope I get through the day.

Oh Canada!

Just a quick note to say "Happy Canada Day!" to all my fellow Canadians.

It is hard to celebrate here in the states because everyone is waiting for the 4th. I say the more holidays the better! Anyway hope everyone sang "Oh Canada" at least once today, and "God Save the Queen".

Toes

Okay it is Monday and I am blogging about what happened on Saturday. Some how I can't ever get to blogging on the day that things happen. Why is that??

Anyway on Saturday I went down to Sandy and had a little bit of a girls day. Rhonda, my mother-in-law gave me a gift certificate for a pedicure and lunch, for my Birthday and since Liz (SinL) was in town we decided to make it a girls day. This was my first experience having a pedicure so it was very exciting for Rhonda and my sister-in-laws being the ones to get my feet wet, sort of speak, with my first time.

I think I have been married to Ryan too long because now I am very shy about anyone touching my feet. Why is it that the traits of your spouse rub off on you?? Or is it just me?

Anyway I left the kids home with Ryan and ventured down. We went to Cafe Rio (yummy) for lunch. Mickey (Liz's best friend) and her Mom meet us there for lunch. Annie (SinL) couldn't make it to lunch :(, we missed her, but she was able to meet us for the big pedicure.

After lunch we stopped at Payless Shoes and I got me a new pair of sandals. I figured if I was going to have such pretty toes I should have something to ware to show them off.

Then we went to the nail salon. It was quite the sight. I think we took up every chair in the place, as there was 7 of us!! Rhonda, Kate, Liz, Annie, Mikey, her Mom (sorry I can't remember her name), and then one of Kate's neighbours which I can't remember her name also. I think I am getting old, can't remember names anymore.

Well, it was great they really do everything to help you relax, although I couldn't. I think being my first time I didn't really know what I was doing and was nervous. But Mikey gave a good show. She is apparently very ticklish and was laughing, I mean rolling all the was through.
It was really fun and I think I will have to do it again so that I can really relax and enjoy it.

Holly loved the flowers on my big toes and now she has been bugging me to paint her toes. Ryan just gives me a dirty look. He HATES painted toes, fingers anything but I guess he is going to have to get used to it having a daughter. And he is having to live through my painted toes because I refuse to take it off. I'll ware it until it comes off or looks really bad, which ever comes first. (tee,he)

Thanks Rhonda for treating me and doing something for me that I would have never done for myself!!

Summer Fun

Yesterday, all the Granquist cousins came up and brought their Mom's for lunch and some summer fun. Liz, Anna and Mikie are over from Eagle, CO and they had not seen our new house yet, so I told everyone to come up and we would grill some hamburgers and get out the slippy slide for some fun.

So they got up here around 12:30 pm after getting a little lost (thanks to Grandpa ;)) and took Liz for a tour of the house. Erin had been here before so she showed Anna all the important parts of our house, like the play room and Holly's "Hello Kitty" room.

We got lunch on and of course half way through cooking the "Kabby Patty's" as Ethan likes to call them, we ran out of propane! Lucky the hot dogs were all cooked, so we could at least feed the kids. They were really ready for the water.
Well I am very happy that I had gotten a indoor electric grill at the end of last summer, so we were able to cook the burgers. Yeah!! Liz and Katie brought up some chips & dip, grapes and cookies to go with the burgers, hot dogs and a pasta salad I had made, so we had a really good lunch.

The moment that lunch was declared over the kids were all in their swim suits ready to go. So I had Ethan go out and fill up the pool and pull out the slippy slide. Well they had a blast!! All of them piled into the pool to cool off while I hooked up the slide. Katie took lots of pictures so all the pictures here are thanks to her. THANKS KATE!!

Ryan came home for a bit to say Hi and of course Ethan had to hit his Dad with a water gun. The race was on. They love to tease each other to no end. I guess it is that way with fathers and sons, always some kind of competition.

Well everyone stayed until just before 4 pm. Boy time flies while your having fun. Thanks to everyone for coming up for some summer fun. It was a blast!!

Okay here is my list of little post catching up on all that has happened in the past week of so. It goes in backwards order, why because I couldn't get them to go any other way, so read all the way through. Enjoy!!
